Transferring data from MAC (Lion) to external drive

hey guys,

wondering if there way i can transfer user account , data main disk external drive has been formatted mac os extended (journaled). tried using migration assistant it's allowing me transfer "from" external drive, not "to" external drive. ways can done single button click?
