i have 1 of older intel core 2 duo white 24" imacs. have had no problems few days ago left go sleep few hours , have no monitor. comes on, power light glows, makes coming on noise, whirs , clicks , if plug iphone it, starts charging , tethers screen remains black.
may not relevant downloaded , installed lion few months ago. since has done 1 or 2 odd things saying not tethered when , twice i've done disc , permission check alarming results. have repaired them. know there few issues regarding lion may coincidence.
have removed , cleaned memory cards. can tell me how can check if software or hardware problem. i'm in spain , not confident how easy repaired apple.
suggestions welcome.

600+ people have viewed post no 1 has suggestions. if attach monitor should able work out if it's monitor or software - or i? has monitor socket it's type i've never seen before. can plug it? have old g4 mac screen , modern dell screen various tv's.
