Update needed at login screen

hi guys, total noob here. have switched custom built pcs mac.
have macbook pro , ever since yesterday, @ login screen when start up, says on username icon "update needed" , picture has gone. have checked make sure running date version, (10.7.2), it's still there.
or suggestions great.
