Should I wait to Buy Mac Mini and Version?

hello! looking purchase mac mini desktop replacement.

have new version of apple tv, 2 ipad 2s, 1 iphone 4 , 1 iphone 4s, ipod classics, , 2 ipod shuffles throughout house. however, still running itunes through windows laptop:-(

ultimately, want have mac mini in living room hooked 55" hdtv , have home base of music, video, , app purchases.

in future want able edit pictures , create video projects mac mini since iphoto , imovie software installed on current versions.

i'd know if should wait next generation of mac mini? dont know upgrades happen , if cost more or less current versions? have external optical drive.

should upgrade server version or base model suffice i'd do.

also, i'd able run windows on mini may use work while work home on days--is there way can this?

please help!!

 

i think current mac mini suit of needs. no need wait new version. easy connect current mac mini television. need simple hdmi cable. , describing not require server version.

if have apple tv 2, why not leave connected tv , have mini @ desk/workstation? can still access music, videos, , pictures itunes (assuming in itunes) on mini.

far installing windows on work, can, wouldn't. since have windows laptop, there no need it. in order it, have partition (split size of hard drive) have 1 part of osx , other part windows. need buy new windows license , install windows partition through program called boot camp (included wioth osx). not able access on mac side... no listening itunes music while work.

if want mini base apps, music, , videos, rather have entire hard drive dedicated space , use laptop occasional work home days.
