If a family member signs into my iCloud/Apple ID on their iPhone...

happened me bunch of times.
contacts got copied on iphone, calendar events , listed there on icloud copied on devices etc...
bad idea imo.
give them password can download apps , without thinking log icloud account , screw things up.
