i'm trying squeeze more life out of mbp, has lead me wondering hardware set maximise battery life. couple thoughts:
1) install ssd - best way go on , off usage, or green spinning drives better? also, having relatively full hard drive decrease battery life?
2) remove optical disk drive - use power in standby?
3) use single stick of ram - matter @ all?
4) underclock cpu
think that's going far! on mac, if windows machine i'd consider it!
none of things have significant effect on battery life, affected greater extent system settings , apps/processes have running. see battery life charge section of following link details.
