hi all,
literally been pulling hair out on issue. spent hours researching , testing fix no avail. it's time ask help.
--background--
i'm editing hdv 1080i50 video in fcp 7. output hdv 1080i50 1440 x 1080 master self contained mov. converted mp4, deinterlaced , downsized use on web. (note: not using prores because handbrake doesn't seem it).
after testing various converters using sample .mov master (handbrake, mpeg streamclip, compressor, quicktime pro, visual hub) have settled on handbrake because delivering best quality , speed purposes. mpeg streamclip came second compressor 3 worst of bunch on both speed , quality.
--issue--
handbrake having issue master mov file. no matter try won't start conversion. after setting click on start , nothing happens. can't add queue. activity window says "macgui: rip: pending queue count 0". if hit start again repeats "macgui: rip: pending queue count 0". (full activity log posted in next post.)
after many hours testing , crafting nice workflow extremely frustrating faulting @ last step. aarrgh!
--other info--
master mov file 1.5 hours duration , 18gb file size.
--tests run--
- deleting handbrake , reinstalling latest version. no change.
- changing .mov extension .mp4 , .m4v.
- changing source , destination locations.
- shortening video file name.
- using quicktime reference file master instead of self contained.
- converting .mov file of same format (hdv 1080i50) , larger size (100gb). file worked fine.
- other handbrake presets. none want work file.
- changing security preferences on master file.
- re-rendering , outputting new master .mov file.
consider using mpeg streamclip option b, strangely having issues same master file (green vertical lines overlaid on video, new , separate issue troubleshoot next if else fails handbrake).
can see i'm getting pretty desperate. appreciate help.
thanks
andrew
