exrternal speakers stopped working

not sure happened.
had happen before , not sure how started again.

working , think did on keyboard perhaps , stopped mid song.

have looked @ settings , seems fine can not them work @ all.
nothing muted @ all.
unplugged, replugged, rebooted everything.....

plays fine through external ones

ideas?

 

check system preferences > sound > output or option/alt click sound/volume icon in menu bar , tell us, listed , checked output device.
