Belkin Snap Shield + Smart Cover for the new iPad

i've gotten new white ipad, wifi.

wondering if combination of belkin snap shield , red leather smart cover on ipad , give decent protection.

issue is, new ipad have new microphone in bottom belkin cases out there block, know older ones made ipad 2.

out there more expertise on this? letting me know!
