Apple store return problem

hey all, wanted feedback apple store return made yesterday.

preordered 2 ipads after keynote. 1 me, , 1 wife. both wifi versions. i've owned every ipad released, wifi. release date drew closer felt should give 4g 1 try.

on release day, had few down minutes @ work went best buy , got at&t 4g ipad. process took less 10 minutes , had quite few in stock.

yesterday went apple store return wifi ipad still in box , plastic. never opened because didn't need to.

waited 40 minutes me (put name on list buy busy!). associate repeatedly questioned me why returning , wrong it. asked me 3 times. explained nothing wrong (it still shrinkwrapped!) didn't need because had upgraded 4g model.

didn't have receipt (apple didn't ship invoice in box it), told log onto account , print invoice if needed it. said should able pull purchase credit card. gave card, swiped it, asked first , last name , email address. asked if wanted receipt printed. asked if email me 1 apple store does. said yes, , amount placed on credit card. gave ipad , left.

now, 24 hours later, have no receipt transaction , credit card shows no refund card. have no proof ever returned anything, , store has ipad.

i'm going go today after work , speak them, guys think? have original invoice has s/n of ipad--can track , show entered store inventory?

wasn't great associate, , know took ipad home , never processed transaction (although @ end of transaction asked if wanted printed receipt, means must have done *something* or wouldn't have asked).

think had open box , test ipad before authorizing refund, , maybe causing delay? maybe think put old ipad in box , sealed again?

thoughts?

 

call credit company. might able tell if there's pending credit.
