hello forum, on 3gc iphone find wifi toggled airport mode. there way change this. preference @ home have phone in airport mode (to avoid constant "searching" , save battery life) , on wifi. out in world prefer wifi off , use cellular network.
explain:
when leave home (going out cellular world , don't need wifi) toggle airport off, if wifi happens off automatically goes on. go wifi page , disconnect it. step eliminate.

btw, regularly upgrade through itunes apples recommendations
to avoid confusion, think mean "airplane mode", not airport mode. airport apple's old name wifi.
