Custom home screen "Apple Touch Icon" for websites that already have one

i'm trying make custom home screen icons web bookmarks on new ipad. i'm using little bookmarklet this:

works great websites don't have apple touch icon specified, ones (facebook, ebay, paypal), 1 defined website seems take over. old icons terrible (pretty sure they're designed old 57x57 size) on ipad's new screen, , i'd love able change them... bookmarklet method works when first add home screen, tap icon, switches low-res icon defined website. have work-around this? i'd love hear thoughts - can't 1 that's going crazy because of these ugly, pixelated icons!

 

if icon defined in site, updates whenever it's launched, you'd have figure out way re-introduce header includes custom icon every time view page.
