Macbook Upgrade Question

i bought macbook 2007 version 2.0 ghz , 1 gb ram , has 80 gb hd. came tiger 10.4 today attempted upgrade leopard 10.5 had cleaned leopard disk before putting drive , ran speech error message half way through install restarted , when restarted didnt give me option go 10.4 said 10.5 when go , click on options says application quit i'm attempting update software downloading mac os update 10.5. cure issue install stopping in middle? not have tiger 10.4 disk dont know if can version.

 

how did attempt upgrade leopard via exact media , installation method did chose?

how attempting download what? can't update 10.4 10.5 via simple software update download. maybe have 10.5 installed?
have looked @ > mac yet?
