Pages: page nos problem in Word doc

if word doc opened in pages, page numbers respond eg layout inspector, sections, page numbers start at, can't selected or deleted.
how can delete ex-word page numbers?

 

can post screenshot of trying change? can open word file in pages , delete page number in footer @ bottom of page.
