GoodPlayer problem

so i'm looking best ways stream existing library of movies remotely on ipad (when not on home network).

far i've tried plex, works great. plays 1080p encoded in matroska. that's not thread (i know there 50 threads on topic alone).

i've tried finding file manager gives remote access , ability "open with" without downloading onto ipad stream. example avplayerhd + filebrowser. i've yet find file manager let's "open with" stream (fb lets download then can "open with").

stumbled upon goodplayer, , of course i've read relevant points here: http://www.hustmobile.com/goodplayer/

however, 2 pretty major issues.

1. can't connect mac pro via smb/samba remotely. enable function of file sharing on mac , create new smb/samba connection in goodplayer (ip address, user name, password), remotely doesn't connect. when i'm on home network can connect both added connection automatically recognizes mac on home network, can connect via 2 channels, speak, , browse computer's files.

2. when connected on home network in scenarios described in 1., doesn't stream anything. i've tried sorts of video files. when browsing files on mac via goodplayer tap file , select "play url." goes on if play video, it's black. duration of file displayed --:--:-- , that's it.

we're talking sorts of files:
.avi containers
.mkv containers
.mp4 containers
.mov containers

thanks.
if possible, please answer in thread http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=14625993#post14625993

keep eye on thread always.

here answers 2 questions:
1 imho, smb not suitable internet sharing, please try other sharing (http, ftp, sftp) internet sharing

2 these 4 file containers tested on smb streaming here, , okay. no use mac pro, tested macbook air , macbook pro on both os x 10.6 , 10.7 smb server.
please check:if using latest goodplayer 4.7 version? , rebooting both smb server , iphone/ipad help.
, smb download okay?
