Difference between Reminders and Tasks?

in reminders app, there difference between reminders , tasks? functionally seem identical, it's odd separated. i'm trying figure out use suit needs.

 

i've wondering myself. in example there advantages/disadvantages creating 2 tasks called bill pay , appointments , putting reminders under appropriate task or putting reminders under reminders?
