Can connect to router but not to internet

i stopped being able connect internet without typing password wireless...every time! macbook pro connects router , says fine. when try online through safari says not connected internet. happens every time open computer , try online. once go through network administrator , work thought assistant type in password online no problem.

have read of other posts see if work , far nothing.

reset router. nada.
deleted password wireless keychain. nothing.

suggestions?

(please keep in mind new macs , need little hand holding)

does have invalid ip or seem alright in network preferences? suggest resetting modem (if it's separate router).
