Sata3 SSD in 2006 Mac Mini

i picked 2006 mac mini core solo nothing tonight upgraded core2duo t5600 , 2 gb of ram old broken laptop. going turn itunes , time machine server using drobo. have sand force 2281 based ssd not using , thought throwing in (partly ssd speed , partly because worry stock drive die being 5 years old). other loss of "top" speed have have compatibility issues?
