Internet Sharing is slow for Lion 10.7.2?

i'm having problems accessing internet via internet sharing.
connection slow, on wifi side.

here's setup:

ipod touch (wifi) -> macmini (internet sharing on) -> cable modem (ethernet)

ipod touch: 4th generation, 802.11b/g/n wifi
macmini: macosx lion 10.7.2, 802.11a/b/g wifi
cable modem: 10mbps ethernet connection

i'm connecting internet ipod touch, wirelessly through macmini,
has internet sharing turned on. macmini connected directly cable modem via ethernet.
devices within arm's reach of each other.

looked transfer rates above wifi protocols, , slowest should 11mbps.

= 54 mbps
b = 11 mbps
g = 54 mbps
n = 100+ mbps

fast enough me.

now, if open network utility on macmini, , select wifi interface,
can see transfer statistics. wifi packets trickling in, slowing.
i'm getting maybe 10 packets every second. try use safari, itunes, app store, weather, gamecenter, etc...
on ipod touch, , dreadfully slow.

if select ethernet interface network utility, , open browser on macmini,
can see thousands of packets being transmitted every second, speed good
on ethernet side.

so, why wifi data transfer slow, though network utility may
wifi link speed connection 54 mbit/s ?

there else can check? :confused:

some more information.

ipod touch wifi settings:

dhcp
ip address: 10.0.2.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
router: 10.0.2.1
dns: 10.0.2.1 (entered me, no idea if helps or not)

macmini interfaces:

1. wi-fi: self-assigned ip (169.x.x.x)
network name: internet sharing: on

2. ethernet: connected (using dhcp)

assume 10.0.2.2 normal ip address internet sharing?

when try use safari on ipod touch, website loading slow. however, when open browser
on macmini , click refresh button, unexpected boost in page loading on ipod touch
lasts brief second.

sound odd?
