At Wit's End... :-(

let me first start thanking may able assist...

mid-2009 mbp started freezing while sleeping required me hold power button down shut off reboot. happened 3 times in many weeks.

last time did this, did not come :-(

have went recovery utility , ran disk repair on hd - there no issues detected (that thing) computer still not boot.

decided bite bullet , fresh install of lion (using usb bootable flash drive had made). booted computer recovery utility, wiped hd (without issue) , installed lion (without issue - or thought). while lion installing, said automatically reboot computer when finished did not - did manually once progress indicator had disappeared no luck - computer booted recovery utility (on flash drive). removed flash drive , got "no file system" flashing folder icon question mark in it.

so... thought must hd - today, received new wd scorpio black 320gb hd , installed - disk utility sees fine, formatted it, installed lion (again) still not boot :-(

@ point, thought must sata cable removed hd, connected usb (via adapter have) - computer not find it...

there missing or have $1200.00 aluminum paper weight???

pc guy , mbp first forray mac-dom , getting little dis-heartened can figure stuff out 1 has me stumped...

thoughts?

in advance time!

 

whenever computer goes sleep, holds information in local memory, not on hd. seems hd fine, problem may lie in logic board or in ram. have upgraded ram?
