hi have problem can't seem head around, im looking @ buying atv3 next weekend, i'm converting whole movie library mkv m4v using handbrake. problem have server running windows server 2003 has media on, have 1 hdd music & photos , 2 x hdd's movies. within movie hdd's media in sub folders, kid films, action, sic fi etc. if understand right need direct atv imac itunes library media server. problem can direct itunes 1 hdd @ time on server there way can have itunes looking @ multiple hdd's. ive tried mapped network drive shortcut folders, mac won't open shortcut saying can't open .ink files?? asked @ local apple store , mentioned setting raid5 on hdd's have no transfer 6tb of media can this. i've bought imac, i'm getting atv next weekend , new iphone when released later year don't want spending more money.. appreciated..

yes. no matter folder have itunes pointing to, can 1 of 2 things in order have media spread across several hard drives.
option 1 unchecking copying of files library on adding them (preferences > advanced > uncheck box) add whatever feel library, no matter located on network.
option 2 drag-and-drop (from finder itunes) whilst holding option (alt) key. override automatic copying specific files.
how collect media have on several drives/locations 1 itunes library.
, oh, should try using ivi or iflicks converting needs. might save hours _per film_.
