AirPlay/Mirroring from iPhone 4S to Apple TV -- is it supposed to be laggy?

hey,

i've got myself iphone 4s , apple tv, i'm using airplay/airplay mirroring 4s, , find bit choppy, in game modern combat 3, output @ 720p, or real racing 2, etc.

normal? aebs quite far away apple tv -- they're @ opposite ends of house, make significant difference if closer? can't move them, add second aebs @ point, if might help. have noticed poorer wifi performance down there, , apple tv loses wifi connection temporarily.

or perhaps apple tv's not able update screen fast enough since has a4?
