4G dropping out or faulty iPad

got new ipad on launch day , got existing data plan transferred on no problem. 4g (not lte) worked fine.

next day cellular data dropping out. signal strength indicator still there "4g" notation disappeared. tried required internet connection failed pop said had no internet connection.

resetting ipad seemed work couple times after few minutes dropped out again. toggling cellular data on , off couple times seemed trick; either or signal came coincidently.

did again today in different area. live in area great 4g coverage no lte. after happened couple times thought turn off lte since wasn't using anyway (duh) , connection kept. again, not sure if signal problems going away , coming or if wrong ipad.

i've never seen 3g on previous ipad or on 2 iphone 4s. happen on 4g lot? i've never had 4g device. or because lte on , trying connect no coverage? or faulty ipad? , if latter, shouldn't have defaulted 3g (or edge)?

@ home , work i've got consistent connection no problems, whatever that's worth.

i had similar issue lte. member informed me restart ipad. seems have worked haven't dropped lte since. haven't been away wifi since i've restarted quick test did looks if restart has fixed it. know 100% tomorrow.
