What is the "other" storage on my iPad.

when plug ipad itunes, shows have 2.4 gb of "other" data on ipad. can't imagine possibly be. that's quite bit of space...any ideas?

the "other" space application data.
have lot of games on 32gb ipad 2 , have 8gb of "other" data. application data in case game saves. have app hides files , images behind password protected gui when app opens. files have in app show "other" in itunes because itunes recognizes music, videos, photos, books, , apps. else goes under "other".

research, can reduce "other" portion syncing ipad itunes, under summary tab, click check box "open itunes when ipad connected". sync ipad again, , re-check same box , sync ipad third time.

let me know experiences after try or if have more questions.
