have new att 64 gb ipad(3). it's third ipad - sold first 1 buy ipad 2, , gave ipad 2 husband when bought one. i've had at&t, i'm thinking of trading 1 in verizon model, because of hotspot.
want make sure understand how works. if have hotspot on, husband should able use ipad 2 on wifi without purchasing data himself, right? able use facetime on ipad or on iphone through hotspot on ipad?
i'm concerned coverage, too. i'm in northern maryoand suburbs of dc, , doesn't have verizon lte here. travel quite bit (domestic only, unfortunately) work, when use 3g/4g/lte, , verizon appears have far more extensive coverage nationwide.

yes able use hotspot wifi connection. far facetime should work don't know how data uses not sure if want else should able answer that.
