in wake of yesterday's report regarding treatment of workers @ facilities of apple's suppliers, apple ceo tim cook has sent email company employees addressing situation. published 9to5mac, email highlights apple's efforts oversee compliance company standards workers' rights , transparency has shared information. cook's opening statement:

the new york times has highlighted responses number of chinese readers, many of whom note issue not exclusive apple , should being addressed government regulations designed protect workers. many readers note china's cheap labor force has enabled country's rapid economic expansion on last several decades , culture ingrained across industries difficult change.
