after numerous problems 2010 15" mbp (2.4 i5, 4gb, 320gb 330m), i've convinced apple give me cru. gave me current generation high-end 15" model. let me $400 worth of paid upgrades (i pay difference), , comes out following:
2.4ghz quad-core intel i7
8gb ddr 1333
750 gb 7200rpm hdd
ati 6770 1gb vram
hi-res antiglare screen.
machine pretty awesome , excited have never had computer nice. however, intel graphics still 3000. if run machine plugged in of time, , when don't need long periods on battery, harm disable automatic graphics switching , use ati time? ui animations , smooth. know on current machine, when intel graphics on, things maximizing quicktime videos or os animations aren't smooth can on 330m.

nope, won't harm anything, use more power , maybe generate more heat. run mine on amd of time (not choice, run internal monitor , external , there no other way on 15 , 17 models run amd tb connector not wired internal gpu).
