How to synch sent e-mails in Mail using Gmail

hi i’m using mail e-mail client gmail address on macbook pro running os x 10.7 lion.

when send emails address on computer not show in sent folder in mail on macbook pro, emails inn boxes show both places. how can make sent folder behave inn box, i.e. make sure sent folder identical whether access in mail or using google.com on computer?

also, time ago reason sent emails older year downloaded sent folder on mac, no longer have them available on line. particularly problematic when need check older sent emails , not on macbook. how can upload these downloaded emails online gmail account?

these mails small size. there no big attachments should not size issue.

what use file sharing, , import sent items mailboxes mail on other computer. eg, have ibook , mac mini. file sharing switched on on both. if want have copy of messages have sent mac mini, on ibook, import ibook mail (and vice versa. ( every week or on both computers) move sent mail messages import correct mailbox @ top. seems work ok me, , although isn't true sync, have remember it, mean have @ least date record of you've sent.

there's simpler way, i'm not whizz kid - by!

sorry! that's wrong! that's tried initially, doesn't work lion, because library hidden. ones on mac mini, (lion) copy mailboxes v2 folder onto external hard drive, , import them onto ibook that. have 10.5.8 in ibook, works fine way. put mailbox folder file sharing on that, can first way.
