HD Camcorder Footage (*.MTS) from SDHC Card to iPad-How?

hi all,

picked 64 gb ipad while in new york last week, along camera connection kit.

got photos still (panasonic) camera onto ipad using adaptor, no problem.

but... when insert sdhc card panasonic camcorder, ipad says "no files import" (or words effect).

presumed footage camcorder onto ipad using adaptor kit, looks may wrong.

thoughts/suggestions?

needs mov, mp4, or m4v in order import. avchd files not accepted.
