Going from an iPad1 to an iPad3, need some help

i using 1st gen ipad. have 3rd gen ipad coming in mail, here day now. however, computer ipad1 synced pc laptop. since time, have made switch macbook pro. i'm worried syncing ipad1 mbp , losing apps, data, etc. tried syncing new mbp , says apps, it'll remove thats not on itunes. well, dont think have apps saved on itunes ios devices, wouldn't wipe off ipad?

questions are:

1.) how can transfer apps , stuff ipad1 ipad3 without losing anything?

2.) being i'm deployed, have strict internet data limit. how can transfer ipad1 data ipad3 without using ton of internet bandwidth?

thanks, trying figured out before new ipad gets here.

somewhere on top of menu bar in itunes can authorize new mbp list of computers allowed itunes account , won't lose apps.
encourage backup ipad 1 icloud , can restore new ipad via icloud without trouble.

of course problem you need internet first way don't second authorize computer.

enjoy new ipad.
