Damn slow MBP

i know slow macbooks have been discussed here lot, read , tried pointless.
whole story this:
girlfriend came me , told me mbp (early 2011) pretty slow , thought got 10.7.3 update. @ first making fun of here, because got 5400rpm harddrive instead of ssd told took @ machine , incredibly slow. whenever opened program or spotlight got beachball 1 min.
did checking disk, repairing permissions, reset smc , pram nothing helped. hope guys may have answers cause problems. maybe clear lioninstallation after

 

check cpu , memory page ins/outs in activity monitor.

click %cpu sort @ top of activity monitor window. active process?

click system memory tab near bottom of window. page ins , page outs?
