hi,
i'm looking suggestions on new camcorder. replacing cannon elura 70 (dv format) that's getting bit old now. primary driver making purchase trip africa i'll taking in late may. typically use camera vacations , family events -- i'm not sort of amateur film maker or anything... purely home type usage. said, go quality , don't mind paying i'll use 7-10 years before replacing again.
waited see announced @ ces 2012, both models narrowed down either had no changes or nothing significant on previous models.
narrowed choices down to:
canon vixia hf g10
panasonic hdc-tm900
panasonic smaller, that's not hugely important me. appreciate smaller / lighter size traveling, i'd rather have better image quality , features. cannon brand , last unit held (still usable).
i'm leaning toward cannon because of better low light capability (according reviews), manual controls (which like) , seems better lens. editing done in fcp x, fall on sony vegas @ times.
cannon announce there won't replacement 2012 on model. panasonic have upgraded version coming out, it's looking more or less minor improvements, same overall unit.
opinions?
