After upgrade mini doesn't boot properly

i upgraded ram , hd on mini , turns on nothing happens fans start spin @ full speed. i've made sure every thing connected properly. have done wrong or missed?

i put original ram in, try booting. i'm assuming have mac os x installed on new drive? when doing hardware upgrades, it's idea boot after each upgrade make sure working properly. perform next upgrade. way, if have problem, know source is.
