Photos getting distorted

im trying crop high res wallpaper photos in photo app , every time tap save, photo distorted , pixelated. if go , try revert original, photo remains distorted.

know solution or experienced same issue? have tried using iphoto app crop pictures iphoto not update crop edits in original album.

 

have rebooted ipad yet?
