Does Medium Format have a future?

i have been considering investing in digital medium format while various benefits business. major step i'm not quite ready yet. recent news has got me interested in happen format in future.

mainstream manufacturers pushing high megapixels (eg nikon d800 , whatever canon's response be) , developing sensors sharp , noise free fraction of price smaller camera companies finding hard compete. wonder if lower end mf cameras disappear? if so, there may not enough business left support production of small quantities of high-end cameras needed.

talk benefits of large sensor technology moves on , image quality of modern dslr there mf of few years ago.

medium format has been relegated small niche several years now. don't see why can't continue being popular amongst devoted followers long time, i'm not sure "future" you're talking about. it's never going regain fraction of popularity once had.
