Why no "Unified Search Bar" in iOS?


desktop safari has it: unified search bar. why isn't apple killing additional search text box in ios? wastes space , isn't intuitive.

thought apple adds in ios5.1, disappointed: still 2 textboxes in mobile safari.
 

killer new feature announced in june along new iphone ios 6.0 (?). or maybe new ios?
