Mac Pro for Architecture student?

hello everyone,

well, 4 years ago, know information need know. obsessed apple, , knew product line! got point school pretty important grade wise, lost interest. have been looking @ universities , computer/software using.

need information, thought come , ask wise, lovely people! used on here lot!

okay, going starting university in september 2013, need start saving mac, have part time 10 hour week job, take while.

going using autocad, archicad, cs5 suite, , few other programs similar these architecture.

presume there updates between , anyway, on agenda updates? ideas when due? going have budget of £3000. if mac pro now, getting base (quad) model) , 15% student discount pro £1700, presume line change, stick base model. think adequate looking use.

display, looking couple of second hand 20" cinema displays of ebay. design of them, , great displays. can't justify paying £800 current 27" cinema display, much.

advice great!

thanks!

yes, mac pro update (maybe two) before fall '13. feel don't need mac pro though. new macbook pros capable machines (15" , 17" models). macbook pros see 2 more updates before fall '13, better time need one.

stick macbook because in school feel portability key. there going times when need go library work done , away distractions. have group projects , need meet friends/classmates. aren't going have buy keyboard/mouse/screen go computer mac pro, although can grab external monitor use when you're @ home/dorm room.

mac pro going more expensive machine, , although it's nice, think on thinking machine need. aren't going need $4000 power horse through school, , don't think notice of difference running programs on mac pro vs. macbook pro (at university level - aren't going using these programs full potential, rather learning different aspects of programs , how implement them results desired). plus benefits of portability lot more beneficial performance differences see imo.
