Better for watching DVD--iPad 2 or iPad 3?

i in market ipad soon. main use watch videos encoded standard-def dvds. however, i'm wondering if ipad 2 or ipad 3 better suited this?

given max dvd resolution 640x480, worse on ipad-sized retina display on current ipad 2 display, because native resolution difference greater?

alternatively, friend suggested dvd better on ipad 3, because pixellation "finer" smaller retina pixels on larger ipad 2 ones.

appreciate everyone's thoughts.

 

does dvd better on standard def tv or on hdtv? same concept.

dvd have spread picture on more pixels fit screen, more pixellated if hd video.

10" screen, results might not drastic full sized tv, i'm sure still pretty noticeable.
