Banjo App uses Location Services when App is Not Running

after installing banjo, location based social app, location services not turn off (in status bar) , killing batteries. didn't know triggering gps, deleted recent app downloaded(banjo). having issue?

yes - since downloaded it, seeing same issue. turned off notification app , switch on when somewhere feel seeing if there else know trying kill battery!

don't know how ios allows apps monitoring location sampling rather having phone on, me, app never used, i'm going try when in toronto once , hit delete.

off topic, thought apps should set communities of interest rather friends. example - if signed alma mater sports team, when close should blare college song on both devices. of time, i'm not lounging wondering friend within 3 km radius want seek out - while quick high 5 minded soul!
