Text Delays

over last few days have noticed incoming , outgoing texts have been delayed. sent text won't received hour after sent. receive new text alert , when go messages , time stamp 5 min hour earlier! idea going on? have tried restarting phone no change. doing same thing imessages , text messages. have iphone 4s running 5.1.
