Me, A Novice Needs Advice On Mac Power.

i own mac g4 mdd, , looking more powerful mac on ebay. possibly g5 or mac mini.
problem is, not sure in various facts listed each mac. recently, installed superdrive in mac. can identify various components when looking inside. far distance knowledge of many on forum. so, i'm asking advice.
current mac g4 follows:
dual core. 2 cpus
cpu type: power pc g4 (3.3)
cpu speed: 1.25ghz
l2 cache (per cpu): 256 kb
l3 cache (per cpu): 1 mb
memory: 2gb
bus speed: 167 mhz
4 slots occupied.
os x leopard
above got mac itself, not sure means.
assumptions: memory hard drive? dual core means 2 hard drives? whatever "cache" means beyond me.
basics should know getting mac faster , more powerful?
internet connection use telephone connection. macs equipped port telephone? macs have internal modem? if not, need internet connection?
garageband on macs? g4 keyboard , mouse work g5 or mac mini?
appreciate advice. i'll take advice , hope better understand when others explain mac power me.

memory thing allows opening apps faster , multitasking. 2 gb max computer.
dual core means dual core. there aren't word that. computer not dual core, dual processor (cpu = processor). means power of 2 computers on same chip. work in circumstances.

l2 cache (per cpu): 256 kb
l3 cache (per cpu): 1 mb
bus speed: 167 mhz---> these 3 lines of numbers infos cpu. people won't bother it, can tell it's g4 mac.

4 pci slot occupied???? leave me surprised. better ask previous owner wtf put in there. these slots add-on slots, can put in it, audio interfaces usb, hard drives controllers, etc.(edit-->see bug-creator's post. right)

keyboard work computer, windows based or mac. doesn't matter @ all. special keys might not work when using pc keyboard on mac or vice versa. latest apple keyboard cool , works beautifully os x leopard (the 1 have).

garageband doesn't come macs should easy find. not forget ask if version powerpc. new apple apps don't work on old macs.


on side note---> there no info on hard drive in post, know. better learn more stuff computers in general before installing stuff or trying computer.

want know whats mac? talking powerpc macs (because 2006-today intel based), general rule way better per mhz (or ghz) pcs same era. dual g4 1.25 ghz @ least pentium4 3ghz.

why need better computer? needs? point of view seems little more knowledge (hardware , software) around need new computer.

see, computer same model yours, little faster (g4 1.42 ghz). kicks ass.
