File Sharing between Macs

i want share files between 3 macs running snow leopard.

on 1 of macs (my work issued one) following:
- system preferences
- sharing
- click on file sharing

1.) there shared folders showing under shared folders window. not sure why these here, though may connected other accounts on mac. can cause problem if remove them? i'm guessing can added back?

2.) under users window there 3 names listed. these people these files shared with?


3.) after file sharing turned on, how access shared folder mac?

1. no, shouldn't hurt anything, , easy add

2. content of users list change each shared folder selected. in other words, can setup can each shared folder independently.

4. ok, didn't ask fourth question, make sure select "options", select afp or smb. need smb if plan share windows machines.
