Another 2009 Macbook Pro Hard drive thread

hi guys sure starting old couldnt find answers questions in other threads , have been searching weeks now. have decided upgrade machine might last couple more years in researching i've found 1.7 firmware has caused quite issue such upgrades. problem this. dont want replace hard drive i'd change ram (to 8gb) best can tell if downgrade efi 1.6 cant full 8gb of ram if don't downgrade can't use faster hard drive scorpio black , stuck oem. correct? there anyway can 8gb of ram , faster hard drive?

 

i don't know if correct, 2009 mbps (i have one) use 8 gb ram start, , 2.5" ssd , hdd maximum height of 12.5 mm.
