Should Apple become a Google "clone?"

i think cool if apple had same kinds of products google. share 2 things in common - both in mobile industry , both offer free e-mail accounts.

but, if apple had own search engine, make lot more money off of advertising , drive lot of iphone, ipad , imac users away google products.

if apple ran own maps, have complete control on them. make maps app on iphone , ipad better 1 on android, without google's permission. 1 thing android's maps app has voice navigation.

thoughts?

 

apple , google have different business models. can see 2 having more overlap in future, don't think we'll see apple become google "clone".

google offers features , services sell ads. gmail way gather user information , sell targeted ads.

apple offers features sell hardware: icloud pretty way sell more iphones, ipads, , (with mountain lion) macs. it's locking people apple hardware ecosystem. icloud lot less compelling if use android or blackberry phone... gmail equally no matter os use.

yeah, there overlap. think maps/navigation prime example of place we'll see apple enter , compete google on. they'll in way sells ios devices , macs, not in way competes google on search.

(fwiw, apple has "search engine" of sorts in siri, , it's nothing google search).
