SEO tips for my new website.

hello everybody.
looking little advice please.

teacher , total rookie @ website stuff. have created website sells history lessons , in first couple of months has been doing pretty well.

keen make appear on google though more read, more confused get.

give me, 10 things must do, make pages appear on google under searches such 'history lessons' history lesson plans, worksheets etc?

used iweb produce site , appreciate refers how in iweb.

example, meta tags , how put these in iweb? etc etc.

there incredibly kind people on forum , appreciate dumbed down (kind of idiots guide!!) on have next , how in iweb.

sorry ask - bit of big question - more trawl through web, more confused get!!
