Review: Otterbox Defender case for iPhone 4s

today i'll reviewing otterbox defender series case iphone 4s. apologies in advance poor quality photos: can't find card adaptor camera, i'll using photo booth take pictures.

there's no denying it: otterbox defender padded brick. not sleek, stylish case show off modern lines of new device. on other hand, defender job of designed do: turn glass device pocket-sized sherman tank.

...and mute switch silicone flap snaps closed. shown, it's bit of tight fit, headphone port still accessible case attached belt clip. rather have seen silicone flap hinge on opposite side minimize stress on headphone plug, seems fine is, , unlike case on ipod touch, allows plug in headphones larger jack apple provided ones. you'd think no-brainer, cases powermat require use flimsy adaptor cord fail.

case comes in 3 pieces: top level attached screen protector, bottom panel window apple logo, , silicone sleeve slides on entire assembly.

overall, case solid, , while adds significant bulk device, doesn't sacrifice function. touchscreen still works through thick, , fingerprint resistant attached screen protector. have option of removing screen protector , leaving screen nude, or covering plastic film of choice.

left integrated screen protector on, since doesn't seem affect touchscreen accuracy, , keeps spills on outside of case. i've spilled coffee on phone, , although of seeped part way under plastic rim of case, no liquid made phone. i've scratched screen protector couple of times @ work, , pleasantly surprised find them invisible screen on.

pleasant surprise: multi-position belt clip functions adjustable kickstand, haven't seen mentioned in other review i've read.

molded belt case (i believe it's abs) attaches exposed areas of interior hard case solid click. part of phone not covered camera , flash, they're recessed far enough prevent damage. have preferred option of plastic layer on camera well, i'm sure photos wouldn't.

overall, otterbox defender made, rough-use case. it's not prettiest case on market, unless you're fan of military/industrial design, am. defender case not every iphone user, find suits purposes well.
