Migration Assistant on Mac OS X Lion

i got new macbook pro , move files , folders old macbook pro. understand can use migration assistant move of this, curious included if allow move "users", "applications", , "settings". know each of these bring onto new mac? replace new versions of ilife old ones old mac, or duplicate programs? same goes of office? also, settings import? help.

• transferring files 1 user account another
