i bought 27" imac (mid 2011) without hdd online. installed spare 250gb had laying around , i've been using couple days, no issues. today installed windows 7 x64 , noticed fans going crazy. installed drivers , computer still pretty loud. rebooted lion , fine.
read online hard drive needs genuine apple hard drive temperature sensor work. true on model? why happening on windows , not lion?
computers under warranty till 2014. unfortunately, can't without original hdd. guy bought system did not have original hdd i'm out of luck there. bought 1tb wd wd1001fals hdd model number of original drive in imacs. possibly fix issue or need apple firmware on drive?
