First-Ever Hearing on NDAA Indefinite Military Detention

as reported earlier week, last year's ndaa indefinite military detention provisions have received first hearing. hearing provided platform discuss problems indefinite military detention in general. many members of senate judiciary committee made clear throughout hearing committed prohibiting indefinite detention without charge or trial , clarifying doesn't apply within united states itself.

in opening remarks, judiciary chairman sen. patrick leahy said, "[the ndaa] contained me troubling provisions related indefinite detention. viewed them inconsistent our nations' fundamental commitment protect liberty… need bipartisan effort guarantee arrested on american soil not locked away indefinitely without charge or judicial review."

sen. dianne feinstein pledged commitment ridding indefinite military detention recounting experience young girl in san francisco witnessed imprisonment of innocent japanese-american citizens in wake of bombing of pearl harbor in 1941. said, "seeing barbed wire, , men, women , children housed in horse stables , small buildings on infield of racetrack experience never forget."

suggest bradbury gets locked first. seems bigger risk freedom in terrorism. maybe can try out torture programs he's responsible for? - jolly adventure!

 

well there historical precedence going on. take @ lincoln's actions during civil war.

disagree way we're doing things. should returned came from, or tried , jailed.
