Data recovery, possible to get the file structure back as well?

hi apple smarties,
closed laptop lid on external lacie drive without ejecting drive first (smart one!). after external drive wouldn't mount. i've used data rescue 3 recover files drive... it's lumping files 1 big batch :-( ...anybody know if it's possible files correct files structure @ before drive got corrupted?
